1. Information We Collect

Student information: education stage, grade, division, school, gender, age, home center, governorate/city, and a linked parent's name and phone number.
Payment information: processed by our third-party payment gateway (Paymob) — we do not store your full card number. We keep a record of the amount, date, and status of each transaction.
Learning activity: which sessions/lectures you access, lecture progress, quiz submissions and scores, and in-person attendance records (for students enrolled at a physical center).
Technical information: IP address and basic device/browser information, collected automatically for security purposes when video content is accessed (to detect and prevent unauthorized sharing of session access).

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account and verify your identity;
To process payments and deliver the sessions/packages you purchase;
To let a linked Parent account view a Student's enrollment, progress, quiz results, and attendance;
To protect video content from unauthorized access or sharing;
To contact you about your account, a purchase, or (with your consent) via WhatsApp for support or purchase requests;
To improve the Platform and troubleshoot technical issues.

3. Who Can See Your Information

A Teacher whose session you purchase can see your name and your progress/quiz results within that session, in order to support your learning. A Parent linked to a Student account can see that Student's enrollment, progress, quiz results, and attendance. Balance Academy staff/admins can access account and payment information to operate the Platform and provide support. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use Paymob to process payments and Bunny.net to host and stream video content. These providers process the minimum information necessary to perform their service (e.g., payment details, or a video-access token) and are bound by their own privacy and security practices.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and learning-activity information for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes. You may request deletion of your account by contacting support, subject to any records we're required to keep.

6. Data Security

Passwords are stored using one-way encryption (hashing) — Balance Academy staff cannot see your actual password. Video content is delivered through encrypted, token-based streaming to reduce unauthorized sharing. Access to admin systems is restricted to authorized staff.

7. Your Rights

You may request to view, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the details below, subject to any information we are required to retain by law (such as payment records).

8. Children's Accounts

The Platform is designed for Preparatory and Secondary school students. Where a Student is a minor, a Parent account may be used to supervise their enrollment and progress.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
